About Joseph Ash

The son of a Birmingham chemist, Joseph Ash, founded the company synonymous with technical excellence and outstanding customer care in 1857.

The immersion of steel in molten zinc creates a tough protective coating which is metallurgically bonded to the steel. It also has amazing electrochemical properties whereby the steel is still protected from corrosion even where the galvanizing has been chipped or scratched.

Galvanizing iron and steel for protection is favored because of its low cost, ease of application and the extended maintenance-free service that it provides.

All galvanizing by Joseph Ash plants is to BS EN ISO 1461:1999 and all have a full technical support service. Our plants also offer a range of additional services including collection & delivery, on-site storage facilities, bundling, packing and export containerisation.

One hundred and fifty years later, Joseph Ash has evolved into a group of strategically located companies serving the United Kingdom, Europe and North America and is a member of Hill and Smith PLC; visit the Hill & Smith website.
